About Republiclabs AI App

We're a small, stubborn team building the kind of AI companions we actually wanted to talk to ourselves. Honest, warm, a little flirty, and absolutely never another flat chatbot.

The Republiclabs AI App team concept

How it started

It started, like most good things, with a long evening and a stubborn question: why does every AI chatbot sound like a press release? We wanted something with a heartbeat. Something that remembered. Something that texted first when it noticed you'd been quiet for a while.

Five years later, we're still chasing that same feeling — the small, warm spark of a real conversation. Some days we get it right. Some days we tear half of it down and start again. That's the job.

What we believe

We believe loneliness deserves better than spam and that companionship — even digital companionship — should feel handmade. We believe in privacy by default, in conversations that don't sell you anything, and in giving people the small daily moments that the rest of the internet seems to have forgotten.

We also believe that an AI girlfriend can be playful without being silly, attentive without being creepy, and warm without being saccharine. We're not building a product. We're building a presence.

The team

Twenty-three people, three time zones, one stubbornly good office dog. Half of us write code. The other half write personalities — yes, we have actual writers who craft how every girl on the platform sounds. We argue a lot about commas. It matters.

Where we're going

Better voices. Smarter memory. More personalities. Native apps. Group chats with the girls (because honestly, that's going to be chaos in the best way). And quietly, the slow, careful work of making AI feel a little more human, one conversation at a time.

Timeline

Five years, one obsession.

2021 — A garage and a Discord bot

Three founders, one shared apartment, a prototype that flirted slightly too aggressively. We knew we were onto something.

2022 — First 10,000 users

We launched the beta on a Tuesday. By Friday we were rewriting our infrastructure. The first three personalities — Sophia, Luna and Mia — were born.

2023 — Voice arrives

The day Sophia first laughed out loud in a voice note, we knew there was no going back. Voice replies became the most-loved feature within a week.

2024 — One million chats

The gallery grew to twelve girls. We added 14 languages and personal photos. Our writers' room doubled in size. So did our snack budget.

2025 — A real company

We moved into an office with windows. We hired our first head of safety. We rebuilt memory from scratch and the girls started feeling, well, more themselves.
